Diagnostics of liquid fuel evaporation – DEVACOL
Thanks to strong links between experimentators and modellers, noticeable progresses have been achieved in the flield of two phase reactive flows during the last two dccades. These improvements are due to the increase of computer performances, the progress in algoritm as weel as new simaltion concepts. Furthermore, new experimental approaches have also been developped to probe vapor and liquid phases inside the flow field.
Nevertheless, the full understanding of the evaporation process cannot be obtained if only geometrical quantities are measured. It is necessary to be able to measure also the thermochemical properties of droplets and vapor. It is the aim of this proposal to combined several techniques devoted to liquid and vapor phase to reach a complete description of the evaporation process.
This project must develop the collaboration between the major french team working in the field of droplet evaporation, permitting to this contorsium to be one of the world leader in the domain.
