Séquençage du génome de la vigne – SGV
The aim of the project is to make a 6X shotgun sequencing of the Vitis vinifera genome to complete a 6X shotgun sequence generated by Génoscope (3X) and by an Italian consortium (3X). The shotgun sequence will be assembled using complementary data like BAC end sequences. The sequence contigs will be ordered by mapping on a physical map. The sequence will be annotated by two main approaches: (i) automatic predictions either based on comparative genomics (EXOFISH, www.genoscope.cns.fr/externe/tetraodon/Exofish) using the Arabidopsis sequence as a reference or on software developed for plant gene prediction (Eugene www.inra.fr/bia/T/EuGene/). A training set of 200 genes will be generated during the project for the training of the prediction sofwares. (ii) the use of a set of full length cDNAs that will be generated in this project and of available EST sequences. A special attention will be paid on resistance/defence genes homologues in all stages of sequence contig mapping and gene annotation. A public release of the sequence data and annotation will be organized through databases such as FlagDB and the construction of a web site.
