From a collaboration platform to a business digital ecosystem – ECOPACK

Submission summary

The ECOPACK project investigates new forms of collaborative tasks associated with the implementation of socio-technical digital environments relying on diverse devices: table, board, tablet, Smartphone, etc. Our approach focuses on the concept of knowledge ecosystem that fosters the dynamic evolution of knowledge articulation in a collaborative group. We specifically endorse the reference concept of business ecosystem.
As its main target, the project focuses on the definition of a digital ecosystem suitable to activities of ideation, innovation, and of strategic analysis. Our team will devote the attention to the development of devices and protocols suited to the expansion of strong ties between actors in order to improve the ecosystem performance. We will allow each potential contributor to introduce his/her inputs anytime via any device available. This requires the information system to be multi-support and multi-user consistent.
Another objective of the project locates in the development of an application accessible to any user and possibly consistent with any digital device available in the ecosystem. Each device will associate with a specific type of interaction and with a specific type of task. Individuals shall be able to use any resource of their own in the collaboration process. The collaborative application will be part of an information system where each contributor is identified as a user in relation with a specific collaborative group. The use of the collaborative application itself will produce specific resources to be in turn articulated in the system as are any other ones. Capitalizing about interaction tracks is also required in order to analyse, deconstruct and reconstruct decision processes.
Resources created and shared among contributors to the ecosystem require altogether individual and collaborative efforts. The platform will therefore allow for a spacio-temporal continuity between sessions. Any user will have to prepare individually for collaborative brainstorming sessions that may occur in synchronous, asynchronous, face-to-face, and remote modes.
