Committees and Panels consulted by the ANR in the framework of its Calls for proposals

The ANR Programme Planning process results in the identification of programmes and of themes for calls for proposals. Calls for proposals are issued each year in the framework of the ANR programmes.

A typical ANR programme issues calls for 3 consecutive years. Research projects selected in this framework may last between 2 and 4 years.

The ANR selection process is based on a peer review scheme with the aim of selecting the best projects among those submitted to the ANR calls, considering criteria that were made public beforehand.

The Strategy and Planning Board (Comité Scientifique Sectoriel)

The Strategy and Planning Board is involved in the Programme Planning process. It makes proposals on the programme themes and on the broad orientations of calls for proposals. It covers several programmes.

The Steering Committee

Sometimes called 'strategic committee', the Steering Committee is formed in the framework of a programme. It contributes to the programme's development and to the elaboration of the calls for proposals' content. For each call and after the projects evaluation by the Evaluation Panel, it prepares the list of projects proposed for the ANR funding.

The Evaluation Panel

Supported, when applicable, by thematic panels, it proceeds to a peer review of submitted proposals after the closing of the call.
