The ANR joins the ERA-NET SIINN to launch a first joint call for proposals to fund transnational research projects on the safe implementation of innovative nanoscience and nanotechnology.
Nine countries from the European Research Area are joining this call: Austria, Belgium (Wallonia), France, Germany, Israel, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
The call is opened to innovative transnational research proposals focusing on Manufactured NanoMaterials (MNMs) in the following four topics:
Please note that not all countries are participating in all topics (Austria and Israel participate to one topic each) â see call text for details.
The projects must show a clear added value in funding the transnational collaboration. Each consortium submitting a proposal must involve a minimum of three research groups from at least two different countries of funding organisations participating in this call (see list above).
Funding will be awarded for a maximum of three years. The ANR will fund only the French partners in the selected projects.
Attention: the contact details mentioned below may not be valid as of today. In order to find the adequate contact details, please consult the "departments" section.
The submission and evaluation process will be managed by the SIINN Call Office, which is based at the ANR.
Joint proposals (in English) must be uploaded to the submission website (http://siinn.agencerecherche.fr), which will be available from 1st April 2012. Submission (electronic submission only) must be completed before 5th June 2012 at 12h00 (noon) Central European time.
Additional information can be found on the SIINN website.
Whilst applications will be submitted jointly by research groups from several countries, individual groups will be funded by the individual funding organisation of their country/region that is participating in the SIINN JTC 2012. Applicants are therefore subject to eligibility criteria of individual funding organisations. If selected for funding, each French partner involved in a given project will have to sign a grant with the ANR. French applicants are therefore subject to the ANR eligibility criteria and the funding of French applicants will be regulated according to the ANR rules. Please read carefully the âAppendix for French participantsâ.
