Nanotechnologies and Nanosystems - P2N

This call for proposals is now closed. You can view all open calls for proposals by clicking here.

The P2N programme aims to promote national excellence in the field of micro- and nanoengineering, from basic technologies to devices, and to accelerate the transfer of knowledge toward the French industry, in order to better benefit from the strong opportunities offered by the nanotechnologies.

The objectives of the programme are to:

- Favor the emergence of new approaches and joint productions of knowledge and know-how between researchers from the academic world and industry in order to improve the transfer between fundamental and industrial research,

- Develop new processes and technologies for micro and nanodevices with the use and help of nanocharacterisation and nanosimulation,

- Explore the applications of micro/nanotechnologies and micro/nanodevices in domains where a strong impact is expected such as health and food,

- Ensure the responsible development of nanotechnologies by taking into account social, cultural and economical aspects,

- Favor the transition to the "integrated system" proof of concept.

The themes proposed in 2013 were organised in order to reflect these goals. They show the great application domains of nanotechnologies and nanodevices:

  1. Miniaturisation,
  2. New technologies and new devices for electronics,
  3. Diversification of technological sectors,
  4. Nanophotonics,
  5. Nanotechnologies for biology, health and food,
  6. Integrative Research.

The P2N programme is complementary to other ANR thematic top-down programmes.

It is co-financed by the DGA as far as dual research is concerned.

For the 2013 edition of the P2N programme, an agreement has been signed between the ANR and the NSERC in Canada, in order to foster the emergence of scientific projects of high quality jointly proposed by French and Canadian research teams. The objective is to finance binational innovative projects, showing a good synergy between the French and Canadian teams and a real integration of the tasks. The conditions of the collaboration are detailed in a specific appendix available below. A specific scientific document template for Franco-Canadian proposals is also available below.
