Biomass is one of the most promising options among renewable energy sources.
The economic and environmental sustainability of solutions proposed require to use biomass as a source of energy. The co-valorisation Energy/co-products through the development of greenchemical processes associated with energy production should lead to the economical and environmental sustainability of the bioenergy industry.

The programme focuses on the concept of biorefinery. It aims at valorising all the components of the biomass to produce energy and co-products for chemical industry, in order to achieve the economical and environmental sustainability.
The programme aims at developing multidisciplinary public/private partnership structures and implementing innovative scientific and technical initiatives. The main objectives are:

  • promoting initiatives leading to a better mobilization of resources, increasing the productivity of the existing processes while reducing the inputs;
  • developing processes optimising the industrial conversion of lignocellulosic biomass in energy;
  • developing technological fields optimising co-valorisation product/energy;
  • enhancing innovation particularly in the field of the production of bio-lipids and other components by action of microorganisms.

The call for proposals is organised in four thematic lines:

  • The resource: mobilisation, preconditioning and processes
  • Development of thermochemical biomass conversion processes
  • Development of biological conversion processes
  • Technological building blocks
