The French National Research Agency (ANR) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) launched together a call for proposals in 2010 in the field of Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies and their usages. In this framework, they co-financed 4 large-scale French-Japanese projects. Two years after the launching of the programme, the ANR and the JST organized on March 13-14, 2012 in Kobe, Japan, a mid-term review workshop for the funded projects. The event gathered more than 80 French and Japanese academic and industrial participants around broad topics such as security evaluation, wireless communication with Terahertz, the exposure of wireless network on fetus and high performance computing. The workshop participants were invited to visit the K computer, one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers which can reach up to 10,51 petaFLOPS.

The programme of the Rare 2011 event is now available! Initiated and organised by the Eurobiomed Competitiveness Cluster and widely supported by local and national public and private partners, the Rare and Orphan Diseases Colloquium reached its objectives in 2009 by bringing together over 300 health professionals, thus making it a benchmark event in the fight against rare diseases in Europe. The event will be pursuing one of its main objectives in 2011, that of serving as a public/private collaborative platform through intensified partnerships between the key players in research and industry.

On October 6, 2010, more than 300 people - among them 200 research managers in companies and associations representing companies – accepted the invitation of the French National Research Agency (ANR) to think on how public and private research could contribute to the emergence of new growth models. Introduced by Mr Alain Claeys, member of the French Parliament (Vienne), the conference was marked by the economist Daniel Cohen’s thoughts which contributed to better understand our economy and our society.
