Global Security Research: See you at the 12th WISG Symposium!

The French National Research Agency (ANR) will be hosting the 12th edition of the Interdisciplinary Workshop on Global Security (WISG) from 16 to 17 October 2018 in Lyon. The event is organised in partnership with the French Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DGRI), the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) and the French General Secretariat for Defence and National Security (SGDSN). It will offer researchers, businesses and institutional stakeholders a platform to discover the outstanding results of ANR projects and specific activities undertaken by the Agency and its partners, while allowing them to engage with potential partners. PMRSEI Holds Seminar for Sharing Experiences

Created in 2015, the Setting up European or International Scientific Networks (MRSEI) instrument assists French researchers in putting together transnational networks. The instrument places a particular emphasis on strengthening French participation in European calls (H2020). The kick-off meeting for projects funded under the instrument’s third call for proposals was held on Thursday 22 September. The event provided an opportunity for new grant recipients to hear feedback from former project MRSEI-assisted projects and use advice to draw up proposals on the European level.

Call for contributions: Franco-Japanese symposium on Molecular Technology

On 9th March 2015, the French National Research Agency (ANR) is organising in Paris, in partnership with the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), the first Franco-Japanese symposium on "Molecular Technology". In this context, ANR is addressing a call for oral presentations and posters to the French scientific community involved in this area. Application submission deadline: 15th February 2015.

Report on the "For sustainable reconstruction" symposium in Haiti

From 3-5 December 2014, the Fondation de France and the French National Research Agency held a closing symposium on the ANR's post-earthquake "Flash Haiti" programme and Fondation de France’s programme for valorising local innovations. Titled "For sustainable reconstruction" and held in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the symposium was attended by 150 persons. Following is a recap of this key event for Franco-Haitian scientific cooperation.

A meeting to strengthen Franco-Swiss relationships in the fields of higher education and research

On 29 November 2013, a meeting related to university and scientific cooperation between Switzerland and France was organised by the French embassy in Switzerland and the Campus France Agency at the University of Bern. In the context of increasing internationalisation of research and higher education, a number of representatives from French and Swiss higher education organisations were gathered in order to strengthen the already existing relationships.

ANR-NSFC Joint Workshop on the follow-up of French-Chinese projects

A French-Chinese workshop gathering 130 scientists from both countries was held in Paris on September 19-20, 2012. The two-day workshop was organised by the French National Research Agency (ANR) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and rallied 41 projects that have been funded by the two agencies since 2008.

French-Japanese joint review workshop in ICT in Kobe

The French National Research Agency (ANR) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) launched together a call for proposals in 2010 in the field of Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies and their usages. In this framework, they co-financed 4 large-scale French-Japanese projects. Two years after the launching of the programme, the ANR and the JST organized on March 13-14, 2012 in Kobe, Japan, a mid-term review workshop for the funded projects. The event gathered more than 80 French and Japanese academic and industrial participants around broad topics such as security evaluation, wireless communication with Terahertz, the exposure of wireless network on fetus and high performance computing. The workshop participants were invited to visit the K computer, one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers which can reach up to 10,51 petaFLOPS.

FORUM AAL 2011 - Lecce, Italy, 26-28th September 2011

The 3rd edition of the AAL Forum will provide a unique knowledge-sharing platform to discuss the way forward of innovations for active and independent ageing. The ANR is member of the Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme, a joint research and development funding programme implemented by 20 European Member States and 3 Associated States. The programme receives a substantial financial support - based on article 185 of the EC treaty - from the European Commission.

"Innovation and partnerships for patients" - Colloquium RARE 2011, Montpellier, 2-4th November 2011

The programme of the Rare 2011 event is now available! Initiated and organised by the Eurobiomed Competitiveness Cluster and widely supported by local and national public and private partners, the Rare and Orphan Diseases Colloquium reached its objectives in 2009 by bringing together over 300 health professionals, thus making it a benchmark event in the fight against rare diseases in Europe. The event will be pursuing one of its main objectives in 2011, that of serving as a public/private collaborative platform through intensified partnerships between the key players in research and industry.
