The 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, 30 November-11 December 2015 at the Paris-Le Bourget site

ANR will be participating in the 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, 30 November-11 December 2015 at the Paris-Le Bourget site, bringing together nearly 40,000 participants, delegates and representatives from each country, observers, and members of civil society. The conference will be the largest diplomatic event hosted in France and also one of the biggest climate conferences ever put together.

The stakes are tremendous; the goal is to conclude the first universal and binding agreement to effectively combat climate disturbances as well as accelerate and promote the transition towards resilient, low-carbon economies.

Grand exhibition - Solutions COP21, 4-10 December 2015, Grand Palais in Paris

The French National Research Agency will be on hand at the COP21’s Grand Expo, at the Grand Palais in Paris from 4 to 10 December 2015. The agency will take part in the “Research and innovation” area alongside fifteen other research organisations.

The area will prompt visitors to reflect upon four themes which affect us all: nutrition, health, lifestyles, and the planet, from initial findings to modern-day solutions and tomorrow’s technology, with ideas for acting individually and collectively.

Chemistry and Climate Change, 18 November 2015, Maison de la Chimie in Paris

The “Chemistry and Climate Change” conference, the latest in a conference series combining chemistry with other seminal topics will be held 18 November 2015 at Maison de la Chimie in Paris. As the UN COP21 conference draws near, the Fondation de la Maison de la Chimie has invited specialists on climate, oceans and atmospheres to talk and debate about the role chemistry and chemists play in achieving greenhouse gas reduction and, going further, advancing other environment issues. The conference is open to the general public and welcomes secondary and university students and their teachers and professors in order to encourage lively and wide-sweeping discussions.

Our Common Future Under Climate Change, 7 to 10 July 2015, UNESCO headquarters in Paris

ANR is a partner of the national scientific conference "Our Common Future Under Climate Change", held 7-10 July at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

The conference is the largest science forum in the months leading up to the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, contributing new scientific knowledge on the heels of the IPCC reports.  The conference will also consider the basis on which scientific knowledge is utilised, creating solutions in the fight against climate change.

The four-day conference provides an opportunity to review:

  • the state of knowledge on climate change;
  • scenarios exploring our common future;
  • responses to challenges posed by these changes;
  • collective actions and transformation-based solutions.
