Résumé

The Revive Consortium for stem cells in regenerative biology and medicine unites fundamental and applied stem cell researchers around a dedicated research programme on stem cells, disease modelling, regenerative medicine and ageing. A primary goal of Revive has always been organizing research labs and related resources within partner institutions to facilitate progress in the stem cell field. Revive has undertaken restructuring actions involving hiring 5 group leaders, over 120 postdocs/PhD students & imaging/bioinformatics experts, establishing structures uniting basic, clinical knowledge and biotech start-ups, creating specialized tech platforms. There is a strong emphasis on conducting groundbreaking research revolving around stem cell characterizations, epigenetics, self-renewal, and applications for therapeutic development. Recently, Revive achieved notable success by securing multiple highly competitive ERC grants – 4 ERC grants won consecutively in the preceding two years. This underscores the organization's dedication to pushing boundaries and making meaningful contributions to the field. Revive played a key role in forming the French Society for Stem Cell Research (FSSCR) to strengthen collaboration among domestic researchers and address ethical concerns.

As part of its educational and outreach endeavors, Revive marked in 2023 the 10th edition of its "Advances in Stem Cell Biology" course and the 3rd diffusion of its linked online MOOC, offering continuous education opportunities for early career professionals in various areas of stem cell biology and regenerative medicine, set to be updated periodically. Revive also joined forces with other Investissements d'Avenir (IA), European networks, and research infrastructure projects. In 2023, supported by FSSCR, EuroGTC, and fellow IA projects, Revive led the French segment of UniStem Day - Europe's premier outreach initiative promoting stem cell research to high school audiences.
