Résumé du projet

Until the end of 2016, 90 papers acknowledging explicitly OT-Med have been published (two papers in “Nature” or “Science”). The number of OT-Med publications each year increases exponentially. Since December 2015, 3 PhD and 5 postdoctoral fellowships have been contracted and 3 PhD students funded by OT-Med defended their thesis. In January 2017, 14 PhD theses and 8 postdoctoral projects are presently ongoing in OT-Med. The new procedure launched for the call for projects 2016 (with the pre-propositions of the projects presented and discussed during the progress meeting 2016) enabled to develop more collaborative and mature projects. Actions towards the society have much progressed: the network of Mediterranean Experts on Climate and environmental Change (MedECC) launched in July 2015 by OT-Med is now on the tracks. At a more local level, we co-lead the group of regional experts and scientists on climate change of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) region of France, called GREC-PACA. New initiative destined to general public has been launched in collaboration with the regional education authority (Aix-Marseille Rectorat): the creation of the MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) on the themes of climate change in the Mediterranean region, destined to high school teachers. Labex OT-Med participates each year in general public educational events (Fête de la Science, Souk des Sciences, Nuit Européenne des Chercheurs). Training activities are organized or sponsored for ?PhD students and post-docs. We co-organise, with the A*MIDEX MedNet project, field schools and training on scientific methodologies, natural risks and climatic changes. Invitations of internationally renowned scientists are opportunities of high-level seminars (some in relation with the IMERA institute of the Aix-Marseille University). The communication tools at destination of scientists are the website (www.otmed.fr), the quarterly online newsletter, the twitter feed @Labex_OTMed.
