Résumé du projet

RAPSODYN aims to improve the yield and nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) in rapeseed crop. RAPSODYN is designed to support the competitiveness of the French breeding sector and to meet society demand for sustainability and quality. It will provide innovative breakthrough in breeding methods and agricultural practices. At month 54, 56.7% of the deliverables was completed despite some workplan modifications following the go-no go evaluation in 2016. Genotyping and sequencing have been completed for all the genetic resources, individual and consensus maps were established for bi-parental populations, specific markers were developed for selected QTL and sequence capture has been initiated (WP1). Field evaluation under contrasted nutrition conditions and genetic analyses led to QTL identification for NUE and yield (WP3). Three QTL have been introgressed into elite backgrounds and a multilocal network trial has been sown to analyze GxN interactions in elite material over environments (WP4). From an economic standpoint, the French and Canadian OSR sectors were analyzed and compared (T4.6). Genetic variability for the NUE components is under investigation at the canopy, plant and organ levels. New tools have been validated for medium-to-high throughput plant phenotyping (WP2). Bioinformatics tools and resources are now available through the RAPSODYN information system portal. (WP5). Communication tools have been delivered: public website (http://www.rapsodyn.fr/), collaborative workspace, brochures (2), newsletters (2), booklet (1) and a short movie. Project results have been disseminated through 11 publications, 38 communications, 5 theses and 9 internship reports (WP6). The project management is ensured through GC, ExCom and WP regular meetings and the annual scientific meetings. The intellectual property is managed by the consortium agreement, IP committees and specific tools (e.g., Démeter_PIA for RAPSODYN). Funding has been provided for the first five years of the project.
