Résumé du projet

In 2016, WP1 has progressed in the development of genomic-enabled prediction of yield. A first round of genomic selection has been done in spring pea; prediction accuracies were satisfactory for mean yield but limited for the tolerance to major limiting factors and intermediate for Aphanomyces tolerance and phenology. Meanwhile, the conventional and photoperiodic winter pea programs have been advanced as planned. In WP2, in pea, GWAS for frost tolerance confirmed previous QTL and discovered promising candidate genes underlying QTL and two major Aphanomyces resistance QTL were fine-mapped. In faba bean, evaluations of RIL populations were carried out for bruchid and Aphanomyces resistance and a Unigene was assembled from RNASeq data on the cv. Hiverna. In WP3, the AMS germplasm collection has been genotyped. A GWAS analysis on part of the collection has been done for root architecture and Aphanomyces tolerance. More phenotyping will follow. Several introgression lines have been seed increased for future field evaluations. The symbiotic conditions that will be evaluated in field conditions have been decided. In WP4, the production of a TILLING population of the winter pea line Hr336/11 has been completed. Rapid screening-by-sequencing protocol for the new TILLING population has been used. Pea VIGS protocol for determining gene function has proven general applicability and started to be optimized in cold conditions. In WP5, data from the 2013-2015 agronomic trial network was analyzed. Crop models were improved and/or implemented. Yield estimation and evaluation of the losses due to limiting factors have reached high reliability. The comprehensive analytical plan to be applied to selected seed samples has been defined. In WP6, data collection and data computing has kept ongoing. Several datasets in both pea and faba bean were analyzed, and marker and unigene resources were produced. 3 scientific papers were produced and results communicated in various events.
