Résumé du projet

Inflammatory diseases constitute an important burden for western societies, and a rising health issue for emerging countries. The “laboratory of excellence” INFLAMEX was established in 2011 to address these challenges. INFLAMEX’ 11 partner laboratories share a strong expertise in studying various aspects of inflammatory diseases and they are recognized internationally for their high-quality research. Since its origin, INFLAMEX invested in several areas that are crucial to its success: We established the first training program dedicated to inflammation and associated diseases in France. The Master program is opened to European scientists and clinicians and we invited many top-level European scientists to teach and share their knowledge with our students. We developed a very dense collaboration network within INFLAMEX to synergize our partners’ research. To reinforce INFLAMEX network and research, we sat up a recruitment scheme that led to the recruitment of more than 20 PhD students and more than 20 Post-doctoral fellows. Since 2015, we pursue a very ambitious project aimed at creating a new multi-pathology cohort, MultiFlam, and at developing new tools to study biological samples. Communication is another essential aspect of INFLAMEX. Hence, we initiated the Challenges in Inflammation series of meeting in 2013, and, in 2016, we organized the first European Challenges in Inflammation meeting. This scientific meeting sed the seeds of new scientific and academic collaborations with partners all over Europe. Finally, INFLAMEX interacts regularly and constructively with several Biotechs and efforts of our partner laboratories helped raising over 10M€ since 2013.
