Résumé du projet

The EQUIPEX MATMECA is coordinated by ONERA and groups together four internationally renowned laboratories: CentraleSupélec (MSSMAT), ENS Paris-Saclay (LMT), ONERA (DMAS) and École Polytechnique Université Paris-Saclay (LMS). These laboratories are all members of the University Paris-Saclay and of the CNRS regional Federation of Mechanics of Materials, Structures and Processing (F2M-msp). They already are already established on the Saclay plateau or will move there starting from 2018. This project is based on three platforms: - a Powder metallurgy (PM) route materials elaboration platform including an inert gas atomisation facility, - an in situ micromechanical characterisation platform comprising a TEM/STEM electron microscope and a SEM-FIB electron/ion dual beam instrument for thin foil preparation and 2D/3D nano-scale imaging (topography, chemistry, crystal structure…), - an X-ray tomograph and its mechanical testing machine, - a calculation platform integrated into an ultra-high speed network, Its whole budget amounts to 6,253 M€: a governmental grant of 4,5 M€ (4,2 M€ in phase 1 – 0,3 M€ in phase 2) completed with internal funding from the partners (1,753 M€) to reach the scientific and technical objectives of the project. The equipment’s set up in phase 1 closed in December 2015. Operating phase 2 started in September 2014. The main scientific topic deals with the great scientific challenges as well as industrial issues related to the manufacture and characterisation of materials, and the modelling and simulation of the behaviour of both materials and structures. The scientific project is strongly interested in the complex phenomena imbricated at different scales, ranging from the atomic up to the structure scale. The application domains are widely different, ranging from energy up to transportation, space, micro-electronics, including biomaterials and nanotechnologies.
